Celebrate Fort Mojave Indian Days — The Fort Mojave Indian Tribe celebrates “Carrying the Warrior Spirit Within” the 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days. All the events will be held in the Needles Village at 500 Merriman Avenue, except the Golf Tournament and Parade. The Fun Run/Walk kicks off the event at 7 a.m on Friday, October 18th. Also a Golf Tournament at 8 a.m.; a 10 a.m. to noon Cultural Workshop in the Tribal Gymnasium; luncheon from noon – 1 p.m.; second Cultural Workshop from 1 – 3 p.m.; Wahoo Tournament at 5 p.m. and the Fort Mojave Royalty Pageant at 7 p.m. then events begin on Saturday, October 19 at 10 a.m. with Food Vendors and the Arts and Craft Vendors opening. A Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. along Broadway in Needles. At 2 p.m. the men’s and women’s tug-o-war competition will take place. A Horseshoe Tournament will begin and Shinny games will be held in Spirit Runner Park, which is at the corner of Harrison Street and Merriman Avenue in the Needles CA Village. At 2:45 p.m. a fry bread-eating contest begins in the Tribal Gymnasium followed by kids games, Entertainment at 4 p.m. and a bird dance and singing contest at 7 p.m. The event concludes with closing by Fort Mojave Indian Days Coordinator & Committee at 10 p.m.
